“Allah intends to establish the truth by His words, and to cut off the roots of the infidels. In order that He may establish the truth and bring to naught what was false”
Jabir said, I asked Imam Baqir (as) about the Tafseer of the verse, “Allah intends to establish the truth by His words, and to cut off the roots of the infidels”
Imam (as) replied, “The explanation of this verse is in its Taweel. It means that Allah intends something but He still has not done it yet.”
Then Imam (as) continued, “To establish the truth by His words” means that Allah will establish the right of the family of the Prophet (as), and the Ta’weel of “His words” refers to Ali (as).
“And to cut off the roots of the infidels”. “The infidels” refer to the Bani Umayyah whose roots Allah will “cut off.”
“In order that He may establish the truth” means that Allah will establish the right of the family of the Prophets at the time of the rising of the Qaem (as).
“And bring to naught what was false” . This means that when the Qaem (as) rises, he will destroy the falsehood of the Bani Umayyah. This is the meaning of the verse, “In order that He may establish the truth and bring to naught what was false” . (Tafseer Ayyashi volume 2 page 49)
