Holy Quran, Chapter 8 Verse 39

وَقَاتِلُوهُمْ حَتَّى لاَ تَكُونَ فِتْنَةٌ وَيَكُونَ الدِّينُ كُلُّهُ لِلّه

“And fight them till there be no mischief, and the religion is wholly Allah’s”

Regarding the above verse, Imam Baqir (as) said, The Taweel (hidden interpretation) of this verse does not apply yet. The Messenger of Allah(sawa) allowed people to stop fighting because of his circumstances and those of the people. However, if this verse had applied to him, he would not have allowed them to stop (fighting) until everyone believed in monotheism and polytheism was destroyed. (Al Kafi volume 8 page 201)

Imam Sadiq (as) said, My father was asked about the verse, “And fight them till there be no mischief; and the religion is wholly Allah’s”.

He replied, The Taweel of this verse does not apply yet. Those who see the rising of our Qaem (as) will see the Taweel of this verse. The religion of Mohammed (sawa) will prevail everywhere and there will not be any polytheism on the land, just as Allah says.
