اللَّهُ لَطِيفٌ بِعِبَادِهِ يَرْزُقُ مَن يَشَاء وَهُوَ الْقَوِيُّ العَزِيزُ مَن كَانَ يُرِيدُ حَرْثَ الْآخِرَةِ
نَزِدْ لَهُ فِي حَرْثِهِ وَمَن كَانَ يُرِيدُ حَرْثَ الدُّنْيَا نُؤتِهِ مِنْهَا وَمَا لَهُ فِي الْآخِرَةِ مِن نَّصِيبٍ
“Allah is benign to His servants. He gives sustenance to whomsoever He wills. He is strong, all-mighty. Whosoever seeks the tilth of the hereafter, We give increase in his tilth; whosoever seeks the tilth of this world, We give to him of these, but he will have no share in the hereafter”
Abu Baseer said, I asked Imam Sadiq (as) about the verse, “Allah is benign to His servants. He gives sustenance to whomsoever He wills”
Imam (as) replied, “The ‘sustenance’ is the Wilayat of Ameerul Momeneen (as)”
I asked, (What about) “whosoever seeks the tilth of the hereafter?”
Imam (as) replied, “This refers to learning about the Ameerul Momeneen (as) and the Imams (as)”
I asked, (What about) “we give increase in his tilth?”
Imam (as) replied, This means We will increase his knowledge and he will receive his share in the government of the Imams (as).
I asked, (What about) “Whosoever seeks the tilth of this world, We give to him of these, but he will have no share in the hereafter?”
Imam (as) replied, He will not have any share in the government of truth with the Qaem (Al Kafi volume 1 page 435)
